These calculators show their working. A mortgage or loan figure is only useful if you can see which assumption moved it, so each one exposes the rate, the term and the compounding period rather than returning a single number.

Two results surprise people often enough to be worth stating. Stacked discounts do not add: 20% off and then a further 10% off leaves 72% of the original price, not 70%, because the second cut applies to the already-reduced amount. And with regular contributions, time does more work than rate — the compound interest and retirement calculators make that visible by letting you change one input at a time.
